Donald J. Muñoz Canales is a professional in the field of international cooperation, with more than 15 years of experience in the management of projects financed by international agencies such as USAID, GIZ and the European Commission.

His career has focused on institutional strengthening, strategic planning and capacity building for civil society organizations in Latin America.

He has helped manage more than $1 million dollars for social projects.

As a committed leader and activist, Donald has worked tirelessly to promote human rights, democracy, freedom, sustainable development and social inclusion.

He has participated in the design and implementation of innovative strategies to empower vulnerable communities, including training projects in entrepreneurship, soft skills and strategic use of information technologies.

Among his outstanding achievements, he has led regional initiatives of great impact, such as the inclusion of people with disabilities in disaster risk management, the promotion of youth employability in rural communities and the strengthening of the capacities of local organizations to influence democratic processes.

He is co-founder of the Academy for Democracy https://academiaporlademocracia.org/

A digital space designed to empower people through education in democracy and human rights. This is done through “Learning by Doing” methodologies that allow learning by doing.

In recent years, the academy has trained 2,213 people in democratic values, promotion and defense of human rights, gender, political advocacy, digital security and cyberactivism.

 

Donald holds an Executive MBA from the Business School “Formato Educativo” with the University of Cadiz and a Postgraduate Degree in University Teaching from the American University (UAM). In addition, he has certifications in coaching, social marketing, leadership and NGO strengthening, which reinforces his ability to train leaders and multidisciplinary teams.

His commitment as an activist and professional has led him to be a reference in the creation of sustainable and inclusive solutions that generate a positive impact in the neediest communities.

Through his leadership, Donald continues to drive significant changes that contribute to building a more just and equitable society.
